This necklace is inspired by my original Flow Necklace, winner of The Danish Arts Foundation’s Jewellery competition.
In the design process, I visualised the transformation from a small flower into a ripened strawberry. The necklace reflects this natural progression, becoming a subtle representation of life cycles found both in nature and within ourselves.
We all begin at the smallest oval and, like many aspects of life, aspire to grow into the largest oval. Yet this transformation can only unfold gradually—step by step. Each oval increases in size by approximately 2%, so that by the end of the chain, the form has grown to more than twice its original size.
The piece also alludes to the ancient symbol of the Ouroboros—the serpent consuming its own tail—representing eternal cycles of life, death, and renewal. The symbol dates back to ancient Egypt, where it first appeared in the 14th century BCE.
Handcrafted in silver, each oval is soldered one by one to create a continuous flow and change expression no matter which way it turns.
